5AC HACKING
Nerhol, the artist duo of Yoshihisa Tanaka and Ryuta Lida, is known for their series of carving laminated photographs. For the 5AC Hacking Project, they employ a unique technique using handcrafted hemp paper, merging textures and carving layers to enhance the essence of the 5AC bag.
Shoko Otake, an illustrator and woodblock print artist, captures daily life scenes in her work. For the 5AC Hacking Project, her piece “HACKED PATCHED” explores the theme of “hacking minds,” featuring multiplied and spliced images reflecting the concept of memory.
BIEN is a multi-media artist who blends abstract line drawing with influences from animation and street culture. For the 5AC Hacking Project, his piece “Visible Observation of the ‘5AC’” challenges perceptions of form and function, transforming the bag into an intriguing sculptural object.
Since December 2022, NUNO, led by Reiko Sudo, has collaborated with contemporary design studio we+. Their joint piece “Inverse Equation” for the 5AC Hacking Project features swaying square embroidery, transforming the bag into a dynamic artwork that embodies Maison Margiela's philosophy of inversion.
